Was it necessary for the N.H.L. big wigs to announce the current season is cancelled?
I'm certain all fans of Hockey with it's fast pace and great hits knew the season was lost when the first game was "postponed" due to labor disputes.
It's unfortunate the owners and the players union could not reach an agreement.
Maybe they can agree to disagree? Probably not.

i know you posted this a while back, but being a NHL fan, it has so irritated me that the only sport with any excitement right now is NBA playoffs. I dont really care for basketball, and this is usually the time of year when the race for the cup is finishing up...i was pretty disapointed about the lack of a season.
Thanks kevin, I too am a big fan of the NHL. Every other "pro sport" out there just doesn't have the guts that Hockey has. I am hoping this Fall will bring the return of the NHL and all the concussions and broken limbs no other pro sport can provide.
