it appears that some of the top brass suggest that our presence in Iraq could last "many years."

Thanks crys, I wonder what your Prof. thinks about our current occupation of Iraq. I hope our Military is not there for 6 or 7 years but at this rate that is likely a good estimate.
Excellent point crys, I hadn't thought about what the international reaction would be if we just pulled the troops out after stirring up the hornets nest.
