End of an Era

Nikon has decided to end film camera production. A company spokesman said, "digital cameras have become the norm." Although, the corporation has not specified when it will end production, it will happen in the near future.
I guess as long as 35 mm film is available I won't panic.

Well, if you enjoy film photography and messy chemical development, then more power to you. But I view film photographers much the way I would an artist mixing their own oil painting pigments: It's time-consuming, serves no positive quality purposes, and it's rather eccentric.

Digital cameras are now capable of equal or higher resolution than film, and the DSLRs have finally leapt the final barrier: instantaneous shutter response. Film has now officially joined flashpans and metal plates as artifacts of a bygone age.

You make a strong point Mr. J. but I will continue using my old school 35 mm cameras for now. I still cling to film because I know my photos will not be deleted by the push of one button.
