To tap or not to tap

According to the President, speed is essential in detecting potential terrorists.
I think he's right. It's so unfortunate that the towers had to fall in order for the Government to respond. Is this a new police state, as some say?
I don't have the answers but if the Attorney General says its okay, then who am I to question the A.G.? I'm just another worker ant trying to avoid being squashed.

While the circus clowns in Washington are pissing on that sputtering match, the kitchen is burning down on our southern border. We're wide open to Mexico, and near as I can tell, we're the only country in history to be at war and have an effectively unguarded border. The entire situation is so bizarre, it would be laughable if it weren't so deadly serious.

What it comes down to is the fact that tightening the Mexico-U.S. border security is a political hot potato that neither party wants to touch. Every time someone in Washington tries to put it on the table, everybody else sticks their fingers in their ears and mumbles.

Ultimately, their ostrichism is going to cost the lives of more American civilians. Shameful.

You make a good point jaregghead. The border has become a serious problem that no one in D.C. has tried to solve.
Ostrichism. I have not heard this one previously, but it is accurate.
